Welcome to Yiesla’s Plants.  I’m Yiesla (Sharon) and I am a professional horticulturist.   I have been taking photos of plants for more than 40 years.  I’m putting those photos to use to produce this website.

This page is basically for plant nerds (you know who you are).  You don’t really want to study horticulture, but you wish you knew a lot more about plants.  Now you can!  This site provides flash cards to show the identification characteristics of various plants.  You can look up a plant you like and get more detail; or thumb through the flash cards to learn about new plants.  Learn at your own pace, doing as little or as much as you want.

The site will also feature insight into the meanings of some of those Latin or scientific names and a glossary of terms that appear on this website.  If you want a little taste of botany look at the section about flower and fruit types.

This website is starting small, but new content will be added on a regular basis.  Enjoy what you see here and come back often to see what is new.  Feel free to download information for your personal use, but my materials may not be used in your own publications or for profit.  Please respect my copyright.  This is my intellectual property.
